Interview Tips

Interview advice for trying to get that next step in your career can be quite easy.  The biggest tip we can give is to not overthink it and try to prepare too much.  A lot of time people try to over prepare for any interview which makes them more nervous.  Check out these four simple steps to help you secure that next role.

  1. Be Yourself.  This emphasizes what is said above, if you are yourself you will be less nervous.  Besides, you want the company to hire you for you.
  2. Do Some Research.  Keep this simple.  Have a look at their website and get a good understanding of what the company does.  Also, ensure you can match up some of your achievements to what the company is looking for in the position.
  3. Be There 10-15min Early.  This is a straight forward interview tip.  It never goes well if someone is late – just think of people that you have interviewed in the past who have shown up late.
  4. Ask Good Questions.  At the end of the interview, you will probably have an opportunity to ask some questions.  This does a couple of things: A) it shows your interest in the position B) allows you to learn more about the company and the position.  Also, if your role involves seeing the shop floor and you have not done a tour…asking for a plant tour may give you valuable insight.

We hope this helps.  Best of luck!
